Kilkenny Arts Festival is one of Ireland’s leading multidisciplinary arts festivals, bringing together acclaimed artists from across the globe and diverse local, national and international audiences in the medieval city of Kilkenny each August.
The Festival Board wishes to appoint a Festival Director to lead the organisation through its next stage of development, reporting to the Board and assuming overall responsibility for the artistic programme, management and operations of the company. The Festival Director will lead the delivery of the Festival’s Strategic Plan for 2019-21 and secure its profile as an artistically inspiring international festival with strong creative leadership and a focus on cultivating and developing audiences.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organisational leadership experience and success in programming, fundraising, communications and team management, together with an ability to influence, manage negotiations and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders. S/he will be an experienced arts professional with artistic programming, strategic business planning and financial management skills.
