The Executive Director will crystallise the business strategy and oversee its implementation at an operational level. This is a key role in defining and delivering a long term viable roadmap that ensures the Gate’s mission is relevant, compelling and delivers a commercial return.
The Executive Director will work closely with the Theatre Operations Manager and Financial Controller to develop the organisations skills, capabilities and competencies which will enable the Gate to deliver on its strategic ambitions as an International centre of excellence.
The role involves developing fundraising strategies to generate sustainable income levels, identifying, cultivating, and managing a range of key relationships and donors. In collaboration with senior management colleagues, the successful candidate will also devise and integrate audience development strategies.
Applicants should have a background and strong interest in the performing arts together with an understanding and empathy with the Gate Theatre and its vision. An entrepreneurial approach and track record of securing significant amounts of external funding and generating income from touring and co-production is vital, as is knowledge and experience of producing theatre, in a variety of settings, and on a variety of scales.
Marketing and Communications Director
The Marketing and Communications Director will devise and implement Marketing and Communications campaigns for future Gate Theatre programmes. He/She will develop an overall long term strategy that builds on the loyal core audience while also attracting new and sustainable audiences.
The Director will develop a 3-5 year marketing strategy to determine and define market potential and scope; develop key audiences and communication strategies beyond the promotion of particular performances and productions.
The role will oversee the development of the brand identity internally and externally, as well as developing and archiving all key marketing assets. The role also involves the creation of a robust audience development strategy, including critical aspects of ticket pricing that ensure value for money for the audience while also guaranteeing the delivery of the annual revenue targets. Applicants should have significant Marketing and Communications experience at a senior level, ideally within an arts or culture environment. The applicant should have a proven record of creating, implementing and evaluating marketing and communications campaigns within budget. The capacity to work at both strategic and operational levels e.g. develop the Gate Theatre brand as well as deliver specific programme marketing campaigns, sales, ticket pricing, etc is essential as is financial knowledge and proven analytical skills in managing and interpreting data.
Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for working creatively and collaboratively with the Director/ CEO to strategically develop and deliver a range of key strategic projects which enable the growth and development of the Gate beyond the core theatre programme. The Senior Project Manager will work collaboratively with the Operations and Production Teams to ensure any key initiatives fit with strategy and can be feasible to implement. A key aspect will be the development of the International programme, including tour bookings, company scheduling, information packs and in general successfully overseeing the implementation of the programme projects.
The role involves quality Project Management of the key agreed initiatives and undertaking company management responsibilities. The successful candidate will also work with the creative associates to ensure the development of a talent pipeline. The role holder will be the point of contact for all Education and Participation enquiries and will lead and initiate these projects.
