Job Title:    Filmmaking Outreach Facilitator (Full Time – 12 month contract)

Job Location:    Young Irish Film Makers, St. Josephs Studios, Kilkenny       

CLOSING DATE: FRIDAY 23rd NOVEMBER @ 12:00pm

YIFM are looking for someone with the passion and experience to work in the area of youth development through filmmaking as a youth arts practice.  This position is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well established team working with young people all over Ireland, with a focus on disadvantaged communities.  

Outreach clients include youth organisations and youth workers.  The role will involve maintaining and building an existing network in the youth work sector. 

Personal specification:

  • Successful candidate will have the experience and ability to engage & work with young people in a youth film, youth arts or youth work setting. 
  • Excellent facilitation skills will be required, as well as a track record in development and delivery of and workshops designed for young people.   
  • Must be a team player with strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.  The ability to be creative and work on your own initiative to deliver on project deadlines.  
  • Will be called upon to write and deliver regular work reports for evaluation and monitoring purposes.  
  • Travel will be included as part of the work and an aspect of unsocial hours may be a feature of this position.

Skills required:

  • A working knowledge of the filmmaking process.
  • Shoot & Edit experience necessary.  (FCP 7, Adobe CS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional office administration & communication skills.
  • Mac & PC Literate.  Will be required to use Google Office suite.
  • Full Clean driving license.

Position Details:

  • 1 year contract, (6 month probationary period).  To be renewed based on performance and funding availability.
  • 37.5 hours per week (Full time).
  • The Coordinator will be accountable to the Director of YIFM.
  • Position subject to Garda vetting.
