Emergent Events (owners and producers of City Spectacular festival) are now recruiting a part time/freelance position for an upcoming event this October. Please note this is part time/freelance role and not a full time position. Applicants should be available to start at mid May, and have the capacity and capability to take lead on an upcoming event.
In 2011, we broke the Guinness World Record for the most amount of people dressed as the lovable children’s character Where’s Wally – 3,872 PEOPLE to be exact! In March 2018 the Wallys are back and this time in the iconic location of Dublin’s Malahide Castle! The event will incorporate a fun family 5k run. The Where’s Wally World Record Run – a 5K family fun run that could break a new world record! Anticipated attendance for the October event is 4000 - 5000 people.

Last July City Spectacular entertained and enthralled 190,000 avid fans across our 3 days in Merrion Square and 65,000 visitors across our weekend in Fitzgerald's Park Cork. 76% of our visitors are urban families, 75% are between the ages of 25 & 44, with 76% being abc1.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience of managing events; an exceptional sales, marketing and publicity expertise; experience at generating and managing sponsorship and partnership relationships; and the ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence at multiple levels. A key focus of this role will be developing and implementing a ticketing sales strategy and the successful candidate will have targets to reach. This role will also include project and event management elements and will work alongside the existing Emergent Events team.
Successful candidates would need to be based/have easy access to Dublin city and must be fluent in English. There is a fixed salary of €2,500 for this one project.
