Our client, The Crafts Council of Ireland, is the national design and economic development organisation for the craft industry in Ireland and is responsible for fostering the growth and commercial strength of this industry in Ireland and overseas. Due to a reorganisation within the Council and in order to ensure greater efficiencies, as well as delivering on the strategic objective of growing the craft industry in Ireland, the Council now wishes to recruit the following senior level appointments. Candidates will be based in Kilkenny and should be strong people managers who are eager to develop this creative industry sector.
Head of Operations Ref. 6198
You will be responsible for the day to day operations and management of the organisation. You will lead the team responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Corporate Services, Facilities and IT as well as being directly responsible for all Membership and Registrar services. You will be commercially aware and have operated at a senior general management level in a similar or educational organisation. Being qualified as an accountant is desirable.
Head of Education, Training & Development Ref. 6200 You will lead a team responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Council’s Education Awareness, Skills Training and Enterprise Development strategies. You will work closely with many stakeholders including the various education sectors, craft enterprises, government departments and the public. You will have a proven career background in education and/or training and be educated to degree level. An understanding of accreditation of education and training programmes would be desirable.
Head of Market Development Ref. 6197 You will be responsible for developing all routes to market both domestically and internationally. You will have the skills and competencies to develop retail and direct to consumer channels, on behalf of a large client base. Candidates will have proven skills in the strategic development of targeted distribution channels and the ability to negotiate commercial arrangements with channel partners. The ability to manage a team to coordinate trade marketing programmes and organise trade events is vital to success.
Head of PUBLIC AFFAIRS & COMMUNICATIONS Ref.6199 A senior marketer with a strong track record of strategic marketing and brand management, you will be responsible for all aspects of marketing and planning from customer insights through to customer experience. You will have proven experience in the implementation of marketing programmes, including customer and stakeholder relationship development, as well as public relations. You will be educated to degree level in marketing, with particular emphasis on public relations and marketing in a similar sector.
Exhibitions Manager Ref.6201 You will be responsible for developing and managing the exhibitions programme for the National Craft Gallery in Kilkenny. This will involve working with external curators and designer makers, craft networks and other partners. You will also be involved in planning and managing touring exhibitions to engage a wide and varied audience. You will have at least three years experience managing exhibitions for a large gallery or museum and be educated with a degree in a relevant sector.
