Dance Theatre of Ireland is a multi-faceted dance production company whose programmes encompass the creation and touring of Contemporary dance involving cross-disciplinary collaboration, nationally and internationally. Their current Co-production Parallel Horizons / Under the Roof with NOW Dance Company (Korea) Toured Ireland and Korea throughout 2008.
The company also has a significant Outreach and Education programme, offering a range of educational, recreational and professional dance activities. They occupy a unique position in Dun Laoghaire, where their programmes interact on a daily basis with the community and other arts organisations.
Dance Theatre of Ireland seek a General Manager who will manage and develop the Company’s ambitious programme of Theatre & outdoor performances, International co-productions and national & international touring, bringing the work of the Company to Korea, the U.K. and the USA. Working closely with and supporting the Artistic Directors, leading and directing an inspired team, this is a dynamic position with one of Ireland's leading cultural organisations, involving the overall management of Dance Theatre of Ireland. This includes the Company's productions, tours, educational programs, studio facilities & programs based at DTI's state-of-the-art Centre for Dance in Dun Laoghaire.
The position requires a person with 5 years Arts Management experience, who demonstrates
• A proven track record in Arts Management, production, touring and / or event management; general or company management
• Excellent business, organisational, team leadership and communication skills;
• Strategic & financial planning and execution of a commensurate scale;
• Fluent computer & IT skills;
• An excellent knowledge and passion for dance, theatre, and/or performing arts;
• Experience of managing artists & tours; an understanding of the complexities of production; understanding of arts in the Irish and International context;
• Proven negotiation skills; an articulate & diplomatic communicator;
• Proven Leadership skills; human resource ingenuity; an ability to manage & develop key relationships effectively;
• Excellent organisational acumen, entrepreneurial and/or marketing experience;
• A keen understanding of Communications & information management;
• Creative problem solving and desire to work in a fast-paced creative environment with a multi-dimensional profile
