Description

Film, Documentary and Community Media Makers: Dublin Community TV needs your work!

You might have stumbled upon Dublin Community TV over on NTL 802. At DCTV we have a unique mission to enhance diversity, empower communities and build participation in both media and community development.

As part of this mission, we've developed a schedule designed to get you involved.  Our schedule is broken into several blocks designed to cater for different styles of programme and audience.  We are always looking to add more programmes to our blocks or innovate how we schedule material.

If you have a film, a show, a documentary or even some raw material you think we can fit into any of these blocks, then do get in touch.

Around the Country: Programming made by other community stations or organisations about various things happening around Ireland.

Independent Media: Programmes by independent groups, featuring a diverse range of film and documentary making from below.

Digital Stories: Personal stories about Dubliners told through Digital Media

Entertainment:  Programmes for some light relief.

Dublin Childerns TV:  Programming aimed at our younger viewers

Give Me The Camera: Programming done by people with no experience in media.

Around The City: Programming focusing and Dublin Past and present

Across the city the production of community television has been gathering pace. We are always looking for material old and new to broadcast.  If you have something, or know someone that has, then here's how you get it on the station and into 200,000 homes.

  1. Get your media ready: Put your video on a DVD like one you would play in a DVD player.
  2. Organise your persmissions: DCTV can supply a release form from either the office or on our website.  You or the copyright holder must sign the form.
  3. Propose the programme to DCTV: The station is controlled by its members and broadcasts programmes proposed by the members.  The proposal form tells us what your programme is and when you would like it screened.
  4. If a programme is stand alone ( ie not part of a series or regular source of programmes) it will be viewed either by staff or volunteers.
  5. Programme is scheduled: DCTV makes a new schedule every month, currently it is devided into 7 different strands.  It may take a couple of months for your programme to join a strand, but hand in there.
  6. It's that easy.  Get your DVD and paperwork together, get them into the DCTV office and we'll fit it into the schedule.
