Now in its 33rd year, the Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition is one of the world’s biggest poetry competitions, according to the promoters.
Prizes are: £5,000, £2,000, £1,000 or one of seven commendations of £100.
Entry fee is £6. Subsequent entries in the same submission cost £3 per poem
Poems published on the poet's own blog or on the internet count as publication and are not eligible to win the National Poetry Competition.
This competition is for poems written in English. Any submissions written in languages other than English will be disqualified.
