Residencies 2009/10

Description

Irish artists are now invited to apply for residencies at the Irish College in Paris throughout 2009 and 2010. Artistic residency at the College gives visual arts practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds the chance to spend time in Paris and engage with one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. Artists who have spent time on previous residencies include Amanda Coogan, Fergus Feehily, James Hanley, Maud Cotter, Eithne Jordan and Mary O'Malley.

Residencies at the Centre Culturel Irlandais usually run for a period of three months, although shorter residency applications of no less than six weeks will also be considered. Artists will be provided with travel, accommodation and a monthly stipend of E600. Residencies will be held between September 2009 and July 2010. A public event involving artists in residence will be included in the cultural programme of the Centre Culturel Irlandais during the residency in agreement with the artist. Further information is available from the Centre Culturel Irlandais website.

To apply, please send a short biography or CV, with a clear description of the intended focus of the residency and documentation of your practice, including experience of other residencies and indication of any familiarity with French culture and language by letter or e-mail to the director.
