Dún Uladh Cultural Heritage Centre and Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann in Omagh, Co. Tyrone, wish to commission a new piece of art for Dún Uladh, the provincial headquarters of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, an organisation founded in 1951 for the purpose of fostering and promoting all aspects of Irish Traditional Culture, in particular music, song, dance and language.
The successful proposal will represent Comhaltas and its vision, as well as that of Dún Uladh and the area it represents. The focus should incorporate music and all facets of Irish Culture. The commissioned piece will be located at the entrance of the building and it is envisaged that the material used will be durable and not vulnerable to the elements if placed outside. The desired art form is a piece of sculpture with a budget of GBP1500.
