The Audience and Media Marketing Manager (AMMM) plays a pivotal role in the Gate’s busy marketing team.

The AMMM should be passionate about speaking with, and listening to, our audiences; be engaged with current digital and marketing trends, with a sense of what’s coming next; be detail-oriented and data-driven; be creative and collaborative; love culture and the performing arts; and be excited and proud to be part of the Gate’s story.


  • Collaborate in the implementation of the Gate’s marketing, digital and communications campaigns to promote its extensive programme of work
  • Oversee the production of promotional materials, including posters, programmes, flyers, signage and all other collateral as required
  • Proof materials to ensure that all collateral is within Gate editorial and brand guidelines
  • Liaise with external designers, printers and other contractors when required, ensuring that key deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Collaborate in the administering of the marketing budget, including the tracking of POs and invoices, ensuring full and proper records are maintained
  • Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders with a view to developing long-lasting and mutually beneficial audience development opportunities
  • Develop the targeting of audiences for the Gate’s events, maintaining accurate and updated contacts and log all targeting activity
  • Manage invite and RSVP databases, and assist with wider event planning and management as required
  • Liaise with Front of House and Operations teams to ensure displays and signage are timely and appropriate
  • Represent the Gate at previews, opening and closing night performances, and external events as required



  • Manage the Gate website and its social media channels, with special responsibility for content delivery, budget allocation, paid advertising and online customer service
  • Manage the Gate’s Google Ads account to ensure the Gate maximises the potential of its monthly Google Ad grant
  • Develop, design and implement organic and paid content schedules to engage existing and new Gate audiences
  • Ensure the Gate website is updated promptly, keeping content relevant, and contributing to re-development plans as required
  • Liaise with the Box Office Manager to ensure that all performances are correctly loaded on the website in advance of on-sale dates
  • Compile and present regular reports on the performance of all digital activity
  • Coordinate our outreach to general and segmented audiences through regular newsletters and ezines, increasing engagement and conversion rates
  • Maintain audience databases, in line with GDPR best practice
  • Drive the promotion of the Gate and its work through design and video content, liaising with external photographers and videographers when required



  • Have a proven track record of managing or collaborating on marketing campaigns
  • A track record of managing social media platforms, including paid and organic content across Facebook and Twitter
  • A strong visual sense, with experience of producing strong, engaging and professional visual content
  • Knowledge and experience working with Google Ads desirable
  • Experience in the area of budget management
  • Be computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and have basic knowledge of design and media packages
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience of CMS platforms, e.g. WordPress
  • Experience of email marketing tools, e.g. Mailchimp
  • Have strong people management skills, a positive and pro-active attitude



  • Highly organised with excellent administration and time management skills
  • Conscientious, positive, punctual and reliable
  • Proactive and self-motivated, and works well as part of an office-based team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple tasks and projects at once, prioritising accordingly
  • Experience working in arts and culture preferable, but not essential
